SACRAMENTO, CA –Assemblymember Marc Berman (D-Menlo Park) issued the following statement in response to Governor Newsom’s January budget proposal:
“While the increased revenues that are projected in the Governor’s budget proposal are promising, we must continue to be vigilant and thoughtful as we negotiate the 2026-27 budget. The Trump administration continues to target California, cutting food assistance for those most in need and increasing the cost of going to the doctor for millions of our friends and neighbors. Our focus and commitment must continue to be on creating a more livable and affordable California for all.”
